Missions 101

What is Missions? What does scripture have to say about it, and who is it for? What role does the church play in all of this?

The Mission of God is revealed from cover to cover in the Bible. Scripture is one book, told as one story, with one purpose: God gathering a people to Himself from all peoples, through the finished work of Christ.

In Missions 101, we’ll walk with the church through the Biblical Basis for Missions. It’s throughout the whole Bible, and it’s for the whole church! No matter our age in life or our stage in life, and no matter our location or our vocation, His purpose should stain every fabric of our lives.

We will also examine some of Jesus’ last words as He instructed His followers to carry out His heart for His people through the life of the church. Scripture records 5 commissioning passages, and we see what each of them tells us.

The church has been given the mantle of Proclaiming, Pastoring, and Planting. Scripture paints a picture of how the church propels the mission forward.

Finally, we clarify the task that Christ has given us and how we believe the mandate of scripture can be accomplished in the most difficult-to-reach places!
