It Starts at Home

Your focus will be getting plugged into your local church. Your tasks will include participating and leading a Bible study, being active in local evangelism, and gaining a global perspective.

It’s time to talk with your local church leadership and begin training to head overseas. You will choose an organization, region, and develop prayer and financial partnerships.

At this point, you will arrive on the field. Field orientation will begin, along with BEC and language school. Language evaluation level will be Progressing High/Capable Low.

Next, you’ll begin LGA research and business research and setup. You’ll continue with BEC and language school. Team formation begins. Language evaluation level goal will be Capable High.

You will start BEC in the group’s native language, and business operations begin. Once your language level meets Capable Mid, you’ll move into discourse analysis. At Capable Mid/High, orthography & primers, literacy equipping, translation workshops, and translation preparation begin. At Capable High, it’s time to receive approval to begin formal teaching.

The focus is now translation, developing Bible teaching resources, and gathering people together. You’re stepping into your role as a teacher, as you help with equipping curriculum development. You’ll continue translation, disciple leaders, and work to establish a healthy church. At the end of this stage the worker moves more into a consulting role, in order to equip the church to continue to multiply.

At this stage, the worker transitions into a consulting role in order to come alongside the local church as they take their part in Acts 1:8, reaching the unreached.
