Our Mission Statement
Core Values
-
We acknowledge our need to be utterly dependent on the Lord Jesus Christ in order to fulfill his Great Commission through faith, hard work, humble obedience, and prayer (John 15:5; Mat 28:16-20; Acts 1:8).
-
We guide cross-cultural workers, in partnership with their sending church, to plant healthy churches in unreached, unengaged minority group contexts. Our “Healthy Church Distinctives” document defines what we mean by “healthy churches” and provides a framework for evaluating progress and shaping strategy (1 Cor 3:10-11; Eph 3:8-10).
-
More than 90 percent of the world’s unreached language groups live outside the reach of traditional missions efforts because they are in closed or restricted areas. In response to Jesus' command to make disciples of ALL “ethne” (language groups), we prioritize our efforts toward those groups who are unreached and unengaged. The task of bringing them the hope of the gospel is urgent, so we work tirelessly to plant healthy churches among them (Mat 28:19-20; Rom 1:13-15; 1 Cor 9:16; Rev 5:9, 7:9).
-
To see the church-planting task completed, we must be willing to lay down our rights and take on a servant’s heart. We go to serve, not to be served, and we go as learners, not imposing our home culture on the people among whom we live. This is possible because we find our identity in Christ alone, and in him we find freedom. The work demands that we hold loosely whatever earthly identities we have attached to ourselves. Just as Jesus left his heavenly home, humbled himself, and became one of us, we too lay aside parts of ourselves so that we can make the gospel understood in another culture. Following Jesus into hard places will at times mean sacrifice, hardship, and suffering. We do not seek it, but we accept it as part of the call, because Christ is worthy of our lives (Mk 10:45; Ac 20:24; Gal 2:20, 5:1; Phil 1:29, 2:3-8).
-
We work with integrity, recognizing that how we live and work is inseparable from the message we proclaim. Following the example of the Apostle Paul, we want our conduct to be above reproach: free of deceit or hidden motives, marked by hard work and sincere care for the people we serve, so that our lives commend the gospel we teach. If we obtain access by committing to do something, we will do it. We will measure the success of a business or venture by how well it advances church-planting objectives. When such endeavors result in financial gain, we will use the profits to benefit the church plant and the community. (Mat 28:16-20; Lk 24:46-49; Ac 1:8; Ac 4; Rom 13:1-2; 2 Cor 1:12; 1 Thes 2:1-12).
-
Our commitment to see God glorified among all language groups motivates us, by his grace, to overcome any obstacle. The good news must be preached, not just by some means, not just by traditional means, but by all means. When a door closes, we must be willing to move out of our comfort zone and pivot to another means of access that help us see churches planted. We will build only what is necessary to reach these language groups in the most effective way, and we will tenaciously persevere through any barriers to accomplishing the task (Ac 17:22-23; 1 Cor 9:22-23; 2 Cor 6:3-10).
-
We are committed to teaching the whole narrative of God's Word, beginning with creation, to build a firm foundation of truth. God's Word must be understood and taught clearly, so we teach in the heart language* so that the Bible is correctly understood in its cultural context. This approach promotes the clarity of the good news and minimizes the influence of syncretism* (Lk 24:25-27; Col 4:3-4).
-
We believe the church is God’s primary instrument of redemption in the world, and has the leading role in his global story. The sending church is the authority in the life and ministry of those they send out, and we exist as a resource to serve, equip, and partner with the church as it seeks to obey the Great Commission mandate. We provide a framework for multiple sending churches to work together to see a church planted among an unreached language group. (Ac 13:1-5; Eph 4:11-12; Phil 1:27; Rev 7:9).
Statement of Faith
It is the responsibility of all believers to work together to share the Gospel.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God and the sole foundation for the faith and practice of all believers. It reveals a triune God: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The Father sent the Son to be the Savior of lost mankind who were separated from God by sin.
