Training Program

Sending churches prepare workers, but reaching restricted-access places requires additional tools.

Discipleship in the Church & Specialized Missions Training

To be effective in the work of healthy church planting, we believe it is essential that workers be thoroughly equipped before being sent. Sending churches can do this through intentional discipleship but given the complexities of the work GSI engages in and the goal of establishing healthy churches among unreached language groups, many churches recognize gaps in their ability to prepare workers in certain practical areas. These often include culture and language acquisition, cross-cultural communication, access to closed regions, orthography development, and Bible translation.

While churches are well-positioned to provide foundational preparation—such as biblical and theological training and discipleship—GSI encourages sending churches to seek specialized missions training to equip workers for these more technical aspects of the task.
