Sent by the Church

The church has been given the authority by God to accomplish the work of the Great Commission. GSI partners with the sending church to see that work is completed.

The Sending Church

We believe the church is God’s primary instrument of redemption in the world and has the leading role in His global story to see healthy churches planted among all people(s). It is the church’s biblical responsibility to:

  • Send qualified workers into the nation
  • Support and shepherd them throughout their ministry
  • Oversee the work with biblical accountability.

This responsibility is especially critical in reaching unreached language groups with little to no access to the gospel.

To explore this biblical responsibility further, read this perspective from a sending church pastor.

GSI as an authentic partner

We come alongside the church’s responsibility within the Great Commission as an authentic and specific partner. Following a clearly defined fieldworker timeline, the sending church and GSI work together with:

  • Full transparency at every step
  • Equipping and providing resources to workers at key junctures
  • Ongoing care for needs as they arise.

Working together with a common clear goal and functioning within unique roles brings a shared focus, all while keeping the language group the sending church is endeavoring to reach at the center of all that we do together.

Ready to Prepare Workers Well?

  • Elders/Pastors & GSI are on calls together with workers in the field.
  • GSI provides tools and evaluations for culture and language acquisition, while churches support worker accountability by understanding the levels of progression to reach capable-high.
  • Care teams, both within the church and at GSI, work to help workers cope and overcome, by God’s grace, the unique challenges of overseas life.
